Questions, answered
What camera formats does Tabor8 support?
Tabor8 takes MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV and AVI files, which is what most phones, action cameras, drones and mirrorless cameras record. Other formats, such as RED R3D or MXF, need exporting to one of those first.
Is my footage secure?
Your footage is encrypted in transit and at rest, and kept in private storage that only your account, and anyone you send a share link to, can open. The face data made during a scan is stored with your project, used only to group and merge people in projects you own or have been given access to, and deleted when you delete the person or the project. Face data is never sold. It is handled only by the service providers that run Tabor8, which are listed in our Privacy & Biometrics Notice.
How accurate is the face recognition?
In the Grammy demo, Tabor8 grouped 42 distinct people across 8 minutes of crowded event footage. Grouping improves the more footage there is of each person. In low light, or when faces are heavily obscured, it can split one person into two folders, and it suggests likely duplicates for you to review and merge.

I already use DaVinci Resolve / Premiere - do I still need this?
DaVinci and Premiere edit footage. Tabor8 organises it before you open your NLE. You upload raw footage, Tabor8 sorts everyone into folders, and you import exactly the clips you need - no scrubbing required.
Can I add footage to a project that's already been scanned?
Yes. Add new footage any time and only the new files are scanned. Tabor8 then matches the people in the new footage to the folders you already have and lists the likely matches for you to confirm. Nothing is merged until you say so.
What's the difference between Tabor8 and something like Frame.io?
Frame.io is a collaboration and review tool - it's built for sharing and approvals. Tabor8 is a footage organiser - it's built to take raw files and sort them by who appears. They solve different problems. Many videographers use both.
